Whether it be loud talkers, slow walkers or people playing incredibly loud music on woefully inadequate headphones. A love of technology can equally be the cause of our biggest frustrations in modern life.

After surviving the long commute home and tolerating a long list of first world problems, you might need to dig deep to make it through the night too. Anyone who has a partner that snores will happily tell you about the uncontrollable silent rage they experience in the early hours of the morning.

Maybe, technology can restore the balance by removing a few of these annoyances. Step forward Silent Partner. They have created a new revolutionary product using sub-wavelength technology to silence snoring once and for all.

The innovative idea first appeared via Indiegogo and to an enthusiastic response. To date they have raised over $710,000 from backers in over 65 countries, far surpassing their initial goal of just $40,000.

It was only a matter of time before a high-tech upgrade of those anti-snoring strips appeared on the scene. Silent Partner smart patch co-creator Yoni Bazak advised: "We have developed a revolutionary product that will quiet snoring noise from which we've all suffered."

The wearable smart-patch does not stop snoring, but can silence the annoying grunting sounds using technology similar to what you would find on a pair of noise-canceling headphones. The use acoustic physics to tricks how the brain manages sounds without actually reducing the volume of anything.

The device itself will not win any awards for beauty. Having something on the bridge of your nose that sticks to your lower cheeks will never be considered a good look for those in the mood late night intimacy. But if it provides a much-needed peaceful nights sleep for frustrating partners, there shouldn't be too many complaints about its appearance.

The adhesive that touches your skin is a medical-grade hypoallergenic and is re-usable up to a month. The device contains a rechargeable hearing aid battery which will have no problems lasting through the night. But it will join the growing list of gadgets that require charging on a daily basis.

This innovative technological solution could prevent the need to spend a night on the couch or in the spare room. It might even save a few relationships or ironically see the original snorer waking to discover their long-suffering partner has now become the snorer.

Silent Partner does exactly what it says on the tin. The way in which this noise canceling technology works is much more useful for the partner than the snorer. But the clue is in the name of the product. I suspect that a few unsuspecting husbands and wives will be receiving one of these as an unsubtle gift.

The universal appeal is evident by its backers from over 65 countries. It's great to see this non-intrusive solution that utilizes both technology and innovation hitting the headlines for all the right reasons.
